Sunnyvale has been committed to fostering public ownership of the Specific Plan and its roadmap for Moffett Park’s future. The Community Engagement Plan has been designed to bring the community together as collaborators in the process, with a goal of broad involvement.

The engagement effort was systematic and inclusive, centered on key objectives including:
Reaching diverse community groups and gathering a variety of perspectives;
Offering various methods for community participation;
Preparing visually attractive and easy-to-understand informational materials; and
Analyzing and sharing community input at relevant points in the process.
City staff and the consultant team listened, informed, and translated the community’s and stakeholders’ viewpoints and vision, and continually reported back on how the information gathered was shared and used.
